Four Books
Kristie
1. Harry Potter (1-7) by J.K. Rowling. Yes. I'm a Harry Potter nerd. The first 3 months of marriage were about Harry Potter. Karl and I read all 7 together and it was magical. Pun totally intended.
2. Black-Eyed Suzie by Susan Shaw. It's a really easy read, but I was really interested in the depth and the look into what it's like to be a catatonic girl. I loved the imagery and the psychological aspect.
3. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. By far my favorite of the classics. I love how it's dark, but also romantic and how it has a little feminist vibe to it. I relate to it on so many levels. Jane feels like a real person. I love it.
4. The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It's a really sweet book that also teaches a phenomenal lesson. We have a huge, crazy awesome pop-up version. It's the best.
Karl
1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. Cause it's Harry Potter.
2. Moby Dick by Herman Melville. It's a fun, epic adventure full of energetic seamen and a quintessential example of man against beast.
3. Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was good. The end.
4. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. I loved how clever and inventive The Count was with his revenge, but also how when it was all said and done, the book didn't glorify revenge and he still felt empty.
