So I met with my friend Amy last night to go over ideas for the cake. She loves it. She loves the cake topper. And she thinks the lemon flavor with a cream cheese frosting will be delightful. I can't wait to see what she does. Things are coming together nicely. Less than 2 months until the big day!

hi! I saw your comment on yes and yes and thought I'd bring some thoughts over to your blog.
I got married last July and We didn't stick to a limited budget like we thought we would, but that's mainly because we ended up inviting about 400 people and 250 people came and we did the traditional seated dinner at a really nice reception location. We spent most of our money there.

Everywhere else, though, I think we did a pretty good job. My best advice is to just pick and choose the things that are really important to YOU and your fiance and spend the money there. Anything else you can probably forego or at least not spend a ton on it. One big item that we eliminated was music- I set up my favorite songs to dance to at our reception on an itunes playlist and had a friend play "deejay" $300 for a sound system rather than thousands on a pro deejay or band (this works best if you have an eclectic music taste)

As for your question of if the reception is worth it? I think yes. My husband and I constantly wish we could redo our wedding, esp. the reception. It was probably the best night of my life. So many friends and so much fun. However, if you have less guests than we did you could probably make it more casual and, thus, less expensive. It's all about what's most important to you!

I blogged about all my vendors and things we did ourselves and how we saved money on various items- here are the links! But feel free to browse my blog as I talk about newlywed and wedding stuff fairly frequently.
