Last night yours truly became officially engaged. Of course we've had a date for months and have almost everything planned. I just needed that ring on my finger. I knew it was coming within this week and I knew Karl had talked to my dad. Both had assured me I wasn't getting engaged last night. I only half believed it until dinner at Macaroni Grill when Karl said that he was sorry it wasn't going to be then, but it would be worth the wait. He also brought me daisies at the beginning of the date and said "I brought these so you wouldn't hate me for not proposing tonight."I was crestfallen. I knew it would come, but I had hoped so badly it would be last night. Then we went on a walk through our park. It was raining so hard, which was funny because it has been like 75 and sunny for 2 weeks. For those of you who don't know, I love the wind and the rain, so last night was perfect. As we were walking, we went towards our favorite gazebo. We got closer and I saw that it was decorated with little white lights. I knew right then. We got even closer and I saw a bouquet of roses and tulips. There were rose petals scattered across the ground and a bottle of sparkling cider and glasses next to the bouquet. I started to get such butterflies. Karl told me to look in the flowers. I saw a little white ring box and snatched it up immediately. I opened it, just saw white and thought, "Oh my gosh. It's a decoy. I can't believe it. It's a decoy." Then he pulled a little blue bag out of his pocket, pulled the ring out (he was a little nervous and fumbling, which was so so cute), got on one knee and said, "Kristie, will you marry me?" It happened so fast. Before I knew it, I was jumping up and down, hugging him and screaming. He told me to look in the box again. There was a drawing he had made of a little story we made up that's become our story. It was so adorable. A minute later Alyssa and Tyler popped out of the bushes, took a few pictures and left us to be seriously happy and giddy together. All in all, it was even more amazing than I could have imagined. July 17, 2010 here we come!
Pictures to follow :)
